Suwuk Beach

Suwuk beach is one of the beaches located in Kebumen Regency that has a beautiful natural landscape and great scenery. This beach has a unique contour than other beaches in Kebumen. This beach is located in District Puring, precisely in Tambakmulyo Village.

Well, besides its natural beauty, something that makes Suwuk Beach different from other beaches in Kebumen is its development tourism concept. Yap, Suwuk beach have the best tourism facility. From the road infrastructure, parking area, places of worship ( Mushalla), till the zoo which make the beauty of this beach is more perfect.
So, lets check the beauty of Suwuk.

The Landscape

Suwuk beach has an area of about 3 Ha,  extending from east to west, with very wide gently sloping stretch of coast.  A few meters from the beach there are palm trees lined up neatly along the coast. In the western section of this beach, there is a large enough river estuary , Banda River's Estuary.

This river's estuary splitting Suwuk Coast region with Karang Bolong Beach area. This river is a limit of the beaches on its west side that tend to have extreme contours, with the beaches in the eastern side that tends to ramps.

Therefore, Suwuk Beach have very different characteristic with Karang Bolong Beach. Karang Bolong Beach  is very hilly and rocky reefs.

If we are near the rivers estuary, we will see beautiful views of the hills. So if you took time to leisure by the river, you'll see the views of the south ocean, stunning beaches, beautiful mountains and typical scenery of the river estuary..

In the winters when the air tends to cool, along a sloping shoreline, sometimes we can see the turtles  laying its eggs. The turtles usually lay eggs at night until early morning, between the hours of 00:00 to 05:00.

Local villagers often seek out and take the eggs of the turtles. In addition to sale at a great price, turtle eggs are also commonly used as a complementary ingredient for herbal (jamu) concoction. Jamu is an Indonesian Traditional Herbal.

The facilities and Development of The tourism Object

Suwuk beach very close to the Jalur Selatan selatan Kebumen (Yogyakarta-Cilacap Alternative Track), the southest roadway in Kebumen. If we go through the Southest line (Cilacap-Yogyakarta alternative track), We can reach this beach from Yogyakarta towards the west from about 125 miles straight. In coastal areas is already available the necessary tourist facilities, such as parking and food stalls offering a variety of foods, especially traditional food like pecel, tahu kupat, meatball, and Mie Ayam.

To enjoy the view from the sea, we can hire a fishing boat that exist around this beach. You can enjoy superb views of the gently sloping beach Suwuk with its neighbors, Karang Bolong beach Beach. This boat can also take you across to Karang Bolong Beach.

Besides the natural coastal tourism, local government also built several other facilities to support the development and stimulate the interest of tourists to visit the beach Suwuk. The Government has established a zoo on this beach.

Several species of birds and mammals have inhabited this zoo. Although not yet complete as other zoos, but at least its existence brings a different atmosphere on this beach. The zoo is very attractive for local tourists who visit here. Animals in the zoo include crocodiles, cassowaries birds, owls, deer, and many others

In this coastal region, we can also relax in the hedge of trees that exist around the coast. We can relax while ordering food from natural ingredients such as Pecel or Gado-gado, peanut brittle, etc., or may be we can enjoy coconut water freshly picked. Wow, you can imagine, how fresh, enjoying natural young coconut water on the blazzing beach?

In addition, Suwuk Coast region is also certain to be more green. At the beginning of 2011 yesterday, the Taruna AKMIL, the Government together with the community around this beach improvement of tourism facilities and planting dozens of tree seedlings to the greening of this beach and attract more tourists.

Not just only the landscape that we can enjoy at this beach. Section of the river estuary rich in fish, also became a place for beginners to professional angler to try his fortune on this beach. The beach is a favorite fishing spot in addition to Logending Beach.

Many of the anglers who arrive from out of town and even those willing to stay for their hobby. Although sometimes they haven't get fish at all, they can buy directly from the fishermen around. They ussually grilled the fish there, or brought it home.

But if you're lucky, at this beach, you'll get jumbo-sized fish. Even anglers get fish species Red Bass, GT, Mackerel, Baracuda, red snapper, and Grouper ( i heard that information form Mancing Mania Suwuk). I am personally never fishing rite there, coz i have no fishing pole and the equipment :D

Sundays and in the holidays usually makes this beach crowded by the tourists visit. Most of them came in with a fishing pole, some are just a stroll to enjoy the beauty of the beach, young people or couples in love who want to enjoy the romance of this beach.
